IGT TUSCAN RED

This wine takes its name from a family ancestor who lived in the 18th century, a great vintner and a keen

wine drinker. The label is based on an old photo of Baccheri, stylized and revisited to create a modern

image that emphasizes the strong connection between past and present.

GRAPE VARIETAL: Sangiovese 60%, Merlot 40%

SOIL: medium-compact, clayey

ALTITUDE: 300 meters above sea level

MICROCLIMATE: moderate precipitation in autumn and spring, winters with temperatures below freezing

at night and very hot summers.

COLOR: ruby red

AROMA: Intensely fruity

TASTE: young, persistent, with notes of red fruits. Round and full-bodied, smooth with soft, velvety

tannins, long and flavorful.

ALCOHOL: 13-13,5% vol

VINIFICATION: in steel

FERMENTATION PERIOD: 18/20 days

AGING: 5 months in small second or third fill French oak barrels

AGING IN THE BOTTLE: at least 3 months

PAIRING: First courses with red sauces of meat and game; second courses of roasts, game and braised and grilled meat; great with aged cheese
